Welcome to Paradise

"Phe Phe" means Paradise. Once you see the dramatic drop against the backdrop of the blue sky and open hills, you'll know why.

Located in the West Jaintia Hills near Krang Suri, Phe Phe is distinct because it requires a bit of adventure just to reach the trailhead. Usually, you have to cross the river by kayak or boat (arranged by the local campsite) before trekking 20 minutes to the falls.

The Two Tiers

The waterfall plunges in two distinct steps. The main drop falls into a large, deep pool that glows turquoise in the winter sun. Unlike the enclosed jungle feel of other falls, Phe Phe feels open, spacious, and grand.

The best "local hack"
  • Camp Nearby: The best way to experience this is to stay at the "Paradise Adventure Camp" nearby. You sleep in tents right by the river.
  • Go Down to the Base: Many tourists stop at the top. Take the steep trail down to the pool level for the best swim and view.
  • Combine with Sua Ludong: Just a short hike away is another smaller fall called Sua Ludong; ask the campsite guides.
Photo tip: The open landscape allows for great drone shots (if you have one) or wide-angle landscape photos.
